The quality, quantity and labelling of seeds, and the use of seed treatments is regulated under industry Codes of Practice through the Australian Seed Federation, which is thethe peak seed organisation in Australia. The codes are available through the ASF website - www.asf.asn.au.- and include : The National Code of Practice for Seed Labelling and Marketing and the National Code of Practice for the Use of Seed Treatments.
Dispute Resolution in the Seeds Industry
The Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia (IAMA) have been appointed by the Australian Seed Federation (ASF) to provide dispute resolution services to the multi-billion dollar Australian seed industry. IAMA have produced a set of rules - Rules of the Australian Seed Federation Dispute Resolution Scheme (for the Domestic Trade in Seed for Sowing Purposes and for the Management of Intellectual Property) – which can be found at the IAMA website; www.iama.org.au.
