Legislation relating to the Wool Industry
The Wool Services Privatisation Act 2000(Cth) put in place a statutory funding agreement (SFA) with Australian Wool Innovations Ltd (AWI) as the industry bodyand Australian Wool Services Ltd (AWS) as a holding company. In October 2007 AWI acquired all the assets of AWS and thus AWI is now a not-for-profit company owned by more than 29,000 Australian farmers and the owner of the Woolmark trademark.
