The law in relation to the export of animals and animal products is contained in the Export Control Act 1982 (Cth), and Export Control (Orders) Regulations 1982 (Cth). These regulations simply provide that if an export control order is breached this is an offence attracting a penalty of between 10 and 50 penalty units. The Act can be viewed at www.daff.gov.au.
