Environmental Management Systems and the Law
Most people involved in primary production are committed to responsible environmental management.
Complying with current laws and regulations is the first step in attaining effective and sustainable Environmental Management Systems.
Laws continue to change in this area and emerging market trends are creating another tier of compliance, where validation that agricultural produce is environmentally 'clean and safe', may soon be a requirement of markets.
In keeping with its commitment to inform and represent the interests of its members and support best practice, the Victorian Farmers Federation has established an Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Pathways Project to assist and train Victorian farmers in developing an EMS. EMS Pathways Officers are available around Victoria to assist farmers in developing an EMS.
This Forum is sponsored by the Victorian Farmers Federation EMS Pathways Project.
